Intertuf 262 is a two-component, high-solids epoxy coating that is designed for use in marine and industrial environments. It provides excellent protection against corrosion, abrasion, and chemical attack. Intertuf 262 is commonly used as a high-performance primer or intermediate coat in immersed and non-immersed environments.
Surface Preparation: The surface to be coated must be clean, dry, and free from all surface contamination. It is recommended to prepare the surface by abrasive blast cleaning to Sa2.5 or SSPC-SP10. The surface should be clean, dry, and free from any contaminants before applying Intertuf 262.
Mixing: Stir well before use. Mix by volume 3 parts Intertuf 262 Part A with 1 part Intertuf 262 Part B. Allow the mixed material to stand for 10 minutes before application.
Application: Intertuf 262 can be applied by airless spray, air spray, brush, or roller. For spray application, the recommended tip size is 0.38-0.53 mm (0.015-0.021 inches) and a pressure of 210-275 bar (3000-4000 psi). The recommended dry film thickness is 75-150 microns (3-6 mils) per coat. The maximum recoating interval is 30 days.
Drying Times: The drying time of Intertuf 262 will depend on the temperature, humidity, and film thickness. At 23°C (73°F) and 50% relative humidity, the drying time for Intertuf 262 is:
Touch dry: 2 hours Hard dry: 10 hours Full cure: 7 days
Safety: Intertuf 262 contains epoxy resin and amine hardener, which can cause skin and eye irritation. Avoid skin and eye contact and inhalation of vapors. Use with adequate ventilation and personal protective equipment. Refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for more information.
Limitations: Do not apply Intertuf 262 to surfaces below 5°C (41°F) or above 40°C (104°F). Do not apply Intertuf 262 when the relative humidity is above 85%. Do not apply over uncured coatings. Avoid pooling and overspray. Do not thin the material.
Storage: Intertuf 262 should be stored in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place, away from sources of heat and ignition. The shelf life of the material is 24 months from the date of manufacture when stored in unopened containers.
A low VOC, two component corrosion inhibitive surface tolerant epoxy. Provides surface tolerant application and high build formulation. Can be utilised with an alternate converter for low temperature or fast recoat applications.
A corrosion resistant primer for structural steel and processing vessel exteriors with excellent water resistance. Exhibits excellent performance in industrial and marine environments subject to acids, alkalis, solvents, salts and other aggresive exposure.
